Another ideal activity for the whole family is to go for a ride on the Chiquitren, operated by a local company. This glazed train has up to 3 carriages (capacity of 72 passengers), although it can also be reduced to 2 (for 48 people). It travels at an average speed of 15 kilometres/hour, which will enable you to enjoy all the spots visited along the route. It is available in the summer season and must be booked in advance at the ticket office (located in the children’s playground on Avenida do Recheo) or by calling 619 534 087.

The Chiquitren features tours around the town of Vilanova’s main points of interest, with departures from the town at 11.00, 12.00, 18.00 and 19.00, or from O Terrón at 11.15, 12.15, 18.15 or 19.15. In addition, there are two special itineraries -which can be booked in advance for groups of at least 10 people- the Valle-Inclán Route -with a daily departure from the end of June to the first half of September- and the Night Route -which can be booked in advance only in July and August.
