Nature
If you like outdoor plans, here are places where you can enjoy a pleasant walk and incredible views.
Ría de Arousa
In addition to being a rich source of sea produce, the Ría de Arousa is a setting that stands out for its extraordinary beauty. Any walk by the sea will offer you unique scenery featuring views of the mussel rafts and, on the horizon, the islet of Areoso or islands such as Arousa, Cortegada or Sálvora. You can choose different points from which to observe the beauty of the ocean… Each of them will give you a different perspective. Don’t miss the opportunity to discover the Ría de Arousa on board. It’s well worth it!
Beaches
Vilanova has 14 kilometres of beaches, so you’re spoilt for choice… The two best known beaches with the largest number of services are O Terrón and As Sinas.
Other Sandy Areas
On the left bank of the bridge that connects Vilanova with A Illa de Arousa, there are two small beaches, about 200 meters long. These are the sandy areas of As Patiñas and O Castelete, which enable you to get away from the hustle and bustle of O Terrón and As Sinas -especially in summer- featuring more tranquillity and enjoyment of the surrounding nature.
Vilanova has other small beaches near the town centre such as A Igrexa, As Brañas, As Casiñas, As Patiñas, Bornal, Cabalgada, O Rial, Campamento Roza da Vila, Pozo de mar, Pasaxe or the urban beach of Ariño.
Viewpoints
To enjoy the best views of Vilanova, Ría de Arousa and Val do Salnés, we recommend that you drive for just over 15 minutes and head to the viewpoints of Faro das Lúas and Cruz de Lobeira. Either of the two places is ideal for enjoying magical sunsets.
You can access the lower part of the former by vehicle. From there you will ascend on foot, enjoying the bird’s-eye views that both spaces offer you. In fact, you can enjoy a small environmental route between both points, as well as another official, short-distance trekking route.
Environmental Routes
Enjoy our municipal district’s natural beauty spots by walking along one of the three environmental routes at your disposal. These are simple routes that will enable you to discover not only beautiful landscapes, but also different historical, ethnographic and cultural sites.
