Apart from the two most famous and busiest beaches in Vilanova, you can find other sandy areas on its coast. One of them is Esteiro, located near the town centre of Vilanova, between O Terrón and Caleiro. At this point, the waters of the sea and the mouth of the Currás River meet, revealing the island of A Insuíña and the small islet of Currás. On this beach you can find shellfish gatherers looking for seafood such as clams or cockles. It is also an area featuring rich flora where you can spot a wide variety of birds. Another of the beaches where you can see the work of shellfish gatherers is Aduana Beach.
