Valle-Inclán Routes

Vilanova de Arousa is the birthplace of the genius of Spanish literature, Ramón María del Valle-Inclán. His works are dotted with various references to his town of origin, as you can see it in the two literary itineraries that we recommend: one through the urban centre and the other through different parishes in the municipal district.

Valle-Inclán Theatre Festival

It is one of the mains events of the cultural summer in Vilanova. The reference centre, in this case, is the Valle-Inclán Auditorium, located on Calle Esteiro, a stone’s throw from the town centre. The programme includes high-quality theatrical shows, featuring performances of Valle-Inclán’s plays by companies from different parts of Spain. Discover this year’s cultural programs here.

Julio Camba

Another of the great prodigies of letters with origins in the municipal capital is Julio Camba. Considered Spain’s first foreign press correspondent, this journalist and writer always maintained a close relationship with his homeland and mentioned it on numerous occasions in his works. You can follow in his footsteps by means of Julio Camba’s Vilanova route, which will take you to his favourite spots in the town.
