He moved to the Spanish capital in 1902<\/strong> and there he met great intellectuals of that time,<\/strong> including Valle-Incl\u00e1n himself<\/strong>. Camba contributed to different media outlets, especially El<\/em> Imparcial<\/em>. He became a regular at the literary gatherings <\/strong>that took place in the Nuevo Caf\u00e9 de Levante and the Horchater\u00eda de Candelas, where he met authors such as Rub\u00e9n Dar\u00edo or P\u00edo and Ricardo Baroja.<\/p>

After his time in Buenos Aires, he returned to Madrid to continue his literary work<\/strong>. The time of the Spanish Civil War,<\/strong> which he spent in the capital of Spain, was especially turbulent, stimulating him to create new works.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The first of these focuses on the costumbrista<\/em> novel <\/strong>(featuring local customs and manners), among which we can highlight the publication of Los nietos de \u00cdcaro<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em> considered the first Spanish novel about aviation<\/strong>. Also noteworthy is the book El velloino de plata<\/em><\/strong>, centred on emigration<\/strong> to America.<\/strong><\/p>

The second period belongs to the genre of historical novel<\/strong>. In this case, and as a result of his stay in Madrid during the Spanish Civil War<\/strong>, the Episodios Contempor\u00e1neos <\/em><\/strong>stand out.<\/strong> Following in the footsteps of P\u00e9rez Gald\u00f3s, his writings combined fiction with the reality of that time.<\/strong> Of major importance is his autobiographical novel Madridgrado<\/em><\/strong> (1939), which reflects his experiences during the Spanish Civil War.<\/p>

Francisco Camba’s works were very well received during his time.<\/strong> However, that is not the case today, unlike those of his brother, Julio Camba, whose publications are still well renowned.
